The Office of Emergency Medical Services in collaboration with GFD Captain, Daren Burrier, held an Ebola Virus Disease Training on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 28-29, 2014. There were One Hundred Eighty Six (186) participants from the Guam Fire Department, Guam Homeland Security, Guam Air National Guard, Guam Army National Guard, Guam International Airport, Navy, Airforce, Joint Region Marianas, Superior Court, Access Medical Transportation, Guam Medical Transport, Health Services of the Pacific, St. Joseph Medical Transport, and the Division of Youth Affairs that completed the training.
The knowledge and expertise on EVD signs/symptom, control, and prevention of transmission was disseminated. The participants also learned patient and healthcare provider guidelines, protocols, legal rights, and personal protection equipment safety.
The next EVD training will be on Monday, November 24, 2014, 8 am – 12 pm; and Tuesday, November 25, 8 am – 12 pm, at the EMS Office, Terlaje Professional Building, 194 Hernan Cortes Ave., Suite 213, Agana.
