Free Teen Health Clinic


The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) is pleased to announce a free Teen Health Clinic will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Stepping Stones Love Life Center, located on the 2nd floor of the FIC Building, next to the American Grocery Store in Dededo.

In 2011, a total of 1,071 Chlamydia cases were reported to the DPHSS. The Chlamydia rate of 592.2 per 100,000 population ranked Guam #8 among the 50 states and U.S. Territories (including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands). Over half or 58% of the Chlamydia cases were reported within the age group 15 – 24. As part of our on-going efforts to prevent STD and HIV infection from impacting youth and young adults, the Bureau of Primary Care Services and the STD/HIV Program, Bureau of Communicable Disease Control in collaboration with the Stepping Stones Outreach Program are offering health prevention services such as STD/HIV counseling and testing, family planning, pregnancy testing, and health education on smoking, alcohol and drugs. A clinician will be available to provide services to teenagers/adolescents between the ages of 15 – 24.
