GUAM SENIOR MEDICARE PATROL GRANT APPROVED

The Department of Public Health and Social Services is pleased to announce that the Division of Senior Citizens (DSC) has received a three year grant award in the amount of $75,000 for each year from the Department of Health & Human Services/Administration on Aging (AOA) for the continued implementation of the Guam Senior Medicare Patrol (Guam SMP) Project.

This grant provides the department with financial support for program staff and enables the program to recruit and train retired professionals to serve as Guam SMP volunteers to reach Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, their family and caregivers to promote Medicare fraud prevention and education through personalized counseling, outreach and media activities.

Medicare beneficiaries and their families interested in the services provided by Guam SMP are encouraged to contact the Division of Senior Citizens at 735-7421 / 7415.
