Northern Pacific Health Promotion Leadership Workshop

The Department of Public Health and Social Services’ Bureau of Community Health Services, in partnership with the World Health Organization Western Pacific Region Office, is hosting the Northern Pacific Health Promotion Leadership (ProLEAD) Workshop on October 26- 27, 2017 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Westin Resort Guam.

ProLEAD is a leadership and capacity building program for the public health workforce, which has been implemented in the Western Pacific region since 2004. It has demonstrated success in building leadership and technical skills of its participants and creating a paradigm shift in the approach to sustainable financing and infrastructure for health promotion. This regional workshop will be attended by participants from Guam, Federated States of Micronesia, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Republic of Palau.

The objectives of the workshop are 1) to expand leadership skills of participants from the four Member States; 2) to review and evaluate progress of country projects proposed in Module 1; and 3) to consider and plan next steps towards the attainment of the nine global targets for non-communicable diseases (NCD) as well as NCD-related Sustainable Development Goals.
