For Immediate Release October 7, 2013; 3:05pm DPHSS Release No. 2013-081 The Emergency Medical Services for Children Program is sponsoring a Pediatric Triage Disaster Drill on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Agana Heights Gymnasium. This exercise will provide participants with an opportunity to assess capabilities, plans, policies, and procedures in responding to an emergency. It will focus on decision-making, coordination, and integration of first responders and various agencies activated during a disaster. The expected outcome of the exercise is to improve emergency medical services for children and adults alike. The incident is not real; however the response activities during this fictional exercise will be practiced in a manner that is as realistic as possible. Participants include Nurses, Doctors, EMT’s, and volunteers from Guam Fire Department, Public Health and Social Services, Department of Education, Guam Community College, Guam Memorial Hospital Authority, Military Fire and EMS personnel, the Agana Heights Mayors Office, and Homeland Security. The areas where the exercise will take place will be clearly marked. The exercise area will not be open to the public due to public safety reasons. We ask for your patience and support during this exercise. For more information, email Marlene Carbullido, RN, MSN, EMS for Children, Program Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org.
