DPHSS Release No. 2014-064

The Division of Environmental Health of the Department of Public Health and Social Services, the Guam Food Safety Task Force, and the Environmental Public Health Association, would like to remind the public that the deadline for submission of the 9th Annual Guam Food Safety Education Month’s “Crack the CODE to Food Safety” poster contest entries are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014.

If your child’s teacher or school is not participating, individual entries may be delivered by parents to the Division of Environmental Health office on the second floor of the Central Public Health Facility in Mangilao.

The poster contest is open to Guam students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. The theme for this year’s poster contest is “Crack the CODE to Food Safety,” which was created to bring awareness about the newly adopted Guam Food Code and to promote food safety. The Guam Food Code is the island’s new regulations governing the sanitary operation of retail food establishments.
