Voluntary Recall of Select Packages of Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size

The Director of the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, would like to inform the public of a voluntary recall of Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size cereal due to the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part. 

The recall includes only those affected cereals with the letters KB, AP, or FK before or after the Best If Used Before date as follows:

Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original cereal

The Division of Environmental Health (DEH) has learned that affected products were sold to consumers at the Pay-Less Supermarkets located at the Agana Shopping Center in Hagatna; Micronesia Mall in Dededo; Dededo; Mangilao; Sinajana; and Yigo.  All affected cereals were removed from store shelves.

The Department is advising all food distributors and retailers to remove the affected products from sale or service.  Consumers are encouraged to review the labels of their cereals to determine if it is affected by the recall.

The Department has not received any local reports of illnesses associated with any of the Kellogg’s cereal.  Consumers who have purchased any of the affected Kellogg’s cereal are urged to stop using the product immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
